Pizza Margarita – recipe from pizzeria “Adriano”
Kyiv pizzeria Adriano welcomes you to a cooking class. Today we will prepare one of the most popular and cheapest pizzas – Margarita.

Ingredients for cooking:
For the dough
- 300g of wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- + additional oil for serving
For tomato sauce
- 100 ml of tomato paste
- a handful of fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
For the filling
- 125 g ball of mozzarella
- a handful of grated Parmesan or a vegetarian alternative
- a handful of cherry tomatoes, cut in half (you can use ordinary tomatoes)
- for garnish a handful of basil leaves (optional)
We make the basis:
Pour flour into a large bowl, then add yeast and salt mixed in water. To make it perfect, use 200 ml of warm water, add olive oil and mix it all together with a wooden spoon until you have a soft and fairly moist dough.
Place on a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Cover with a towel and set aside. You can leave the dough to rise if you like a loose dough, but this is not essential for a thin crust.
Make the sauce:
Mix the tomato paste together with the basil and crushed garlic, then season to taste with spices. Leave to stand at room temperature while you shape the base.

Roll out the dough:
If you let the dough rise, you need to knead it quickly, then divide it into two balls. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into large cakes, about 25 cm in diameter, using a rolling pin. The dough should be very thin, as it will still rise in the oven.
Make the filling and bake:
Preheat the oven to 240C / 220C degrees. We spread the cake on the base on which we will bake. We turn on our imagination and start laying out the filling. First, spread the sauce prepared earlier, then sprinkle with cheese and tomatoes, sprinkle with olive oil and seasonings. Bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy.

Serve with a little olive oil and basil leaves. Repeat the steps for the other pizzas.
